Pakistan: Forms Special Committee on Gender Mainstreaming

The National Assembly of Pakistan has established a Special Committee on Gender Mainstreaming, initiated by Minister for Housing and Works Riaz Hussain Pirzada under rule 244(B). The committee aims to propose measures for enhancing women's empowerment across the nation. Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasised the critical role of legislative support and commended the ongoing efforts of women advocating for their rights. The committee will focus on developing policies to integrate gender considerations into all aspects of governance and society. Gender Concerns International hopes that this initiative will support the commitment to the advancement of achieving gender equality and addressing women's challenges in Pakistan.
