Commission on the Status of Women & International Women’s Day 2023
The 67th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) will take place from March 6th to 17th, 2023. This is an important event that brings together representatives from member states, UN entities, and accredited non-governmental organizations from around the world to discuss key issues related to gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.
This year's priority theme is "Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls." The CSW will also be reviewing the challenges and opportunities in achieving gender equality and empowering rural women and girls, as agreed upon in the conclusions of the 62nd session.
We encourage anyone interested in promoting gender equality and women's empowerment to participate in the CSW session. If you are a representative of a member state or an accredited NGO, you can contribute to the session and help shape the outcomes. Stay tuned for more updates and information on this important event.
International Women's Day 2023: #EmbraceEquity
On March 8th, 2023, International Women's Day is celebrated - a day to recognize the achievements of women and to continue the fight for gender equality. This year's campaign theme is #EmbraceEquity, which aims to highlight the difference between equity and equality, and why it's important to acknowledge and value this difference.
The theme of #EmbraceEquity is a call to action, urging us all to embrace the idea that equal opportunities are no longer enough, and to work towards creating a more inclusive world. The campaign seeks to spark worldwide conversation about the importance of equity in achieving gender equality and empowering women and girls.
International Women's Day 2023 is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women, while also recognizing the work that still needs to be done to achieve gender equality. It's a chance to support women and girls in our communities and around the world, and to take action towards creating a more equitable and just society for all.
